TRIZ – What is TRIZ?

1.‘TRIZ is the Russian acronym for the “ Theory of Inventive Problem Solving”, for which English acronym TIPS may be used.
2.G. S. Altshuller and his colleagues in the former U.S.S.R. developed the method between 1946 and 1985.

3.TRIZ is an international science of creativity that relies on the study of the patterns of problems and solutions, not on the spontaneous and intuitive creativity of individual or groups.

4.More than three million patents were analyzed to discover the patterns that predict breakthrough solutions to problems.

5.TRIZ is being used extensively these days in breakthrough scientific and technological research.

6.It is spreading into corporate use across several parallel paths - it is increasingly common is six sigma process, in project management systems and in organizational innovation initiatives.
